Monday the 21st Feb saw the triumphant return of the South Glos Youth Awards, this year hosted at the YOU Foundation Centre in Staple Hill.
60+ young people were recognised for their work on projects over the last year and accredited through South Gloucester's own award programme and Duke of Edinburgh Awards. Young people can gain their awards for 10 hours engagement in loads of different things split into three categories: Activities, Life Skills and Making a difference!
We were delighted to have groups from the Music Studio project attend (and rock us out with a blinding set!) and Boarding School skaters who showed other attendees their skills with an edit they'd been working on.
The evening had other entertainment too, with video presentations and a graffiti workshop ran by Olas.Art. No one went hungry with The Happy Cod catering the event for us, and the amazing young people of Wickwar YC helping decorate the hall with an Oscars Theme complete with backdrops, popcorn and lots of gold!
We can't wait for next years event, when we can showcase and celebrate even more amazing and talented young people!
