November Update

Wow what a busy month!

We've been out and about teaching skateboarding to young people at the Cabot Circus Level 7 skatepark, Hosting our own comp/jam mixing our annual comp with our usual halloween antics, and now running a design your own skateboard competition!

The Level 7 skatepark at Cabot Circus came back for it's second year, providing a free and dry spot in the centre of Bristol for skaters of any age. With Canvas skateparks providing a plethora of skateable street obstacles, we were asked to provide some beginner friendly skateboard lessons to any young people that wanted to give it a go. Thanks to Clown skateboards and 50-50 skatestore we were able to offer all the equipment and taught about 30 kids how to drop-in on each day! phew!

Above we have some pics from our halloween event on the 30th October, the event was a mix of timed runs with prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd and an open jam format sessioning some new obstacles like the Bridge of death and Tombstone of terror!

And now to our Design-a-deck competition! Have you ever wanted your own pro deck, one with your name on it? Ever looked at some skateboard graphic and thought "hey, I could do better!"? Or even just keen to have some of your own art on a board that you can hang in your room? Then this is your chance! Free to enter, either by grabbing one of our paper templates at the boarding school or using the digital template here:

We haven't got a closing date on this as we want everyone who wants to time to enter and not rush so winner will be decided early 2024. The winner will have their design printed on a board to keep!

Designs can be handed in or emailed to: theboardingschoolsk8@gmail.com
